New coach, same problems for Orlando City

Razvan Cocis Chicago Fire Orlando City

Orlando City gave up another late goal to lose 2 points in Sunday’s game versus Chicago Fire. The Lions had the lead going into the sixty fifth minute and it just started to fade away. Orlando in an unorthodox move used a sub on a defender yet still gave up a goal in the seventy eighth minute to make the score 2-2.

Going into the game Orlando fans should have been feeling optimistic as chicago was the worst team in the league. However, it was just typical result that the Lions have become accustom too. Orlando leads the league with 13 draws. Has given up late goals for the tie in about half those fixtures.

On a positive note Kaka looked very good for the entire game. Which is nice to see him fit going down the home stretch. The newest Perez-Garcia also looked very lively in his 64′ minutes on the pitch. A front four of Larin, MPG, Kaka, and Molino could be enough to get Orlando above the line. However, as long as the back line continues to struggle the Lions will face  uphill battle.

In the coming fixtures the schedule does not look bright. Away to Colorado, mid week at home versus  Toronto followed by another home game versus NYCFC doesn’t fair well for Orlando. Hopefully coach Kreis can find a way to work some Disney magic on the defense with the likes of Tommy Redding and the loanee Aja.
