Match Preview: Minnesota United FC vs Rayo OKC

Last week, the Loons registered 3 points in a win against Fort Lauderdale at home. As Minnesota United heads to Oklahoma City tonight for there match against Rayo OKC, momentum continues to favor the side.

Rayo wont be an easy outing though. During the Spring Season, the Loons suffered a 1-0 loss during their last visit to Miller stadium. OKC also sits atop the NASL Fall Table with 11 points. Their only loss coming to Puerto Rico FC last Saturday.

Rayo is led by center midfielderMichel who is now in second place for goals scored in league play with. The sides defense anchored by Futty Danso, and Sebastian have given up a few goals so far this far, but have helped Rayo pull out close one margin victories.

United’s biggest advantage will be fresh legs, OKC’s last match was on Wednesday, so fatigue will be key. Game time temperatures will be hovering around 90 degrees. This will help the Loons,e specially on the counter attack which has been nearly unstoppable the last few weeks.

This week’s player to watch on the United side, will be J.C. Banks. Last week he scored his first goal of the season. Since being inserted in the starting 11, Bank has been the difference maker, helping bolster the attack with his speed and wit.

A win today, would help catapult the Loons into the top 4. Right now the side sits in 5th place for the Fall Season, but 4th in the combined standings.
