John Zielonka spoke to Alan Hinton, himself a former Sounders head coach, after the news broke that Sigi Schmid had been fired.
Still reeling from the news, Hinton said he was shocked and disappointed. He pointed out that firing the coach was always an easy answer and maintained that the loss of Obafemi Martins was not Schmid’s fault.
