Videos: Keller, Costigan and Hinton on Leicester City’s improbable EPL title

Prost Amerika’s John Zielonka interviewed Hall of Fame goalkeeper Kasey Keller, who played for the Foxes from 1996-99,  soccer broadcaster Keith Costigan and Derby County legend Alan Hinton on Leicester City’s rise to the top of the English Premier League.

The three soccer pundits all agreed head coach Claudio Ranieri deserved credit for taking a team on the verge of relegation last year to winning the 2016 EPL title.

When asked if this signaled a dramatic shift in the Premier League power structure, the trio were united in identifying Leicester’s championship as a blip. They felt the big money clubs would continue to spend and dominate English football in the future.

The full video interviews with Keller, Hinton and Costigan are below:

Kasey Keller

“Think of a AAA baseball team getting the chance to play in Major League Baseball and winning the World Series that year.”

Alan Hinton

“I never thought I’d see the day when a little big club like Leicester can come and play so beautifully and shock the world. They were 5000-1 with the bookmakers before the season started.”

Keith Costigan

“Nobody can say they saw something like this coming.”
