After multiple chances to score a goal, the Houston Dash held to a scoreless draw versus Sky Blue on Friday night at BBVA Compass Stadium in front of over 5,000 fans. The home team was unable to unlock the Sky Blue defense and after creating multiple chances to win the game, the players could not find the back of the net. This was the second home game for Houston, missing their superstar Carli Lloyd. She suffered an injury last week against Orlando, and will be able to return to the pitch for 4 to 6 weeks. Despite missing Lloyd, the Dash had Brazilian Andressa who controlled the football in midfield for the Texan team. Even though the rookie Chioma Ubogagu showed speed and aggressiveness in all sides of the offense for the Dash, her versatility was not enough for the home team to get the win.

While Sky Blue had a good defensive game, that was not the same case on the offensive side. The best player for the New Jersey team was their goalkeeper Stanley. She denied multiple chances of the Dash forwards. With the tie, the Houston Dash and Sky Blue FC both got a point that has the teams tied with 4 total points in the season. Both teams will play again May 7th; Sky Blue FC will host Western New York Flash, and the Houston Dash head to Kansas City to play reigning champs FC KC.
