While the fight in Las Vegas is getting most of the attention, one of MLS’ heavyweights will look to deliver yet another knockout blow on Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Galaxy find themselves well in position to continue its current run of form on Saturday night. The Galaxy come into Saturday night’s contest against the Colorado Rapids riding a three-match unbeaten streak and will certainly go into Saturday’s match looking to position themselves for a big run.

The Galaxy are 2-0-1 in its last three matches, with its most recent result a 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls last Sunday afternoon. Bradford Jamieson IV tallied in the ninth minute to put LA ahead, but NYRB’s Felipe equalized in the 58th minute, the match ended in a draw, thus preventing the Galaxy from getting out of Red Bull Arena with the full three points.

The Galaxy are on its current run despite the absence of Robbie Keane, who is battling a groin injury and is likely to miss Saturday’s match against the Rapids. LA however hasn’t missed him much, as Jamieson, a product of the Galaxy academy, has filled in admirably for Keane at the forward position, scoring in LA’s last two matches and making his case for a permanent spot in LA’s starting 11.

The injury bug has also affected Colorado, as former Galaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas will also miss the match with a knee injury. Sarvas, a key component in the Galaxy lineup during his three seasons in LA, will have to wait until August 1 to face off against his former team.
