David Ousted

Another road 1-0 victory, the 3rd of the season for the Great Dane. Improved to 5W-2L-1D with 4 clean sheets. Made four big saves to keep RSL of the score sheet giving Mattocks the chance for the game winning goal in the 80th minute. The RSL supporters where riding him and booing him all game long and he excelled in the villain role. He is making Whitecaps goalkeeper coach Marius “Air Marshall” Rovde very proud.

He was already the most underrated goal keeper in the MLS after he excellent season last year and he has kept up the great play this season. He is amazing on crosses and nine times out of ten when he has the chance to get to the ball he does.

Matias Laba

Easily the best defensive midfielder in the MLS. Is so good on all his challenges, tackles and 50/50 balls. He completely shuts down the middle of the pitch to the point where the opposing teams can only build up play down both wings. By having Gershon Koffie and Russell Teibert starting also in line up it gave Laba the chance to sit back defensively and not have to worry about building any offense play during the game.

The question is how long will he be in a Whitecaps kit moving forward? When will he be sold to another club for a substantial fee and move on?

Bottom 2

Pa-Madou Kah

Was very lucky early in the game that when Saborio got behind him on a bad attempt at the ball and skied the shot way over the net. He seems to have one or two of these every game he has played this season. He looked a step behind everyone and looked to slow compared to every other player on the pitch. He has played way too many minutes this season due to Deigo Rodriguez’s injury and suspension. Look for Rodriguez to get the starts when he is back healthy.

Sam Adekugbe

Looked very rushed this game. Made some nice runs up the wing but failed to get clear crosses into the box. He was rushing his crosses so much to the point that the RSL defenders where blocking them with there bodies before any Whitecap player could get to them. He was also very sloppy with ball when he tried to play it over his midfielders and directly to the forwards up top. He should of calmed down and played the ball through the middle of the pitch through player like Teibert and Nico Mezquida.
