Russell Teibert

The best defensive game the young Canadian has played as a MLS pro. Was able to get Robbie Keane off his game and make him completely invisible on the pitch. Partnering with Matias Laba they where able to make sure all LA Galaxy attacks had to go down the wings by shutting down the middle of the pitch. Carl Robinson will be the first to tell you what a world class player Keane is and how proud he is of Teibert for stepping up for the team tonight to shut him down.

Even with all the attention he was giving Keane he was able to find a wide open Pedro Morales who was able to set up a sprinting Kekuta Manneh down the wing for the game winning goal. With Gershon Koffie and the new player Deybi Flores fighting hard in every practice for MLS minutes, Teibert will need more games like this to get his spot in the starting XI.

Kendall Waston

Was a beast that was let loose all over the Galaxy forwards all game long. If a ball came into the box on a corner he was the man clearing it out of the defensive box at the highest point. He even took out teammate Sam Adekugbe late in the game on a clearance. No one is safe from the big man.

He doesn’t give any space to forwards and is great at taking up space so the opposing team can’t get any clear chances at the net. If he keeps this play up he will for sure be a MLS allstar in this league for years and years to come.

Bottom 2:

Pa-Madou Kah

Silly yellow card for Kah this game. Decided to challenge three Galaxy players with no player covering behind him. Had no choice but to grab the jersey or the Galaxy would of had a chance of a breakaway. With Deigo Rodriguez back next game it might be sometime before Kah gets another start. It wasn’t all bad though as he did partner well with Waston to shut down the attack from the Galaxy forwards.

Steven Beitashour

Game in and game out Beitashour has not been good enough this season at his position. He is always chasing because the ball got played over top of him and he was caught too far up the field or he was pulled too far into the middle of the pitch and he left the wing wide open. This game was no different, with a 2-0 dominate win it isn’t easy coming up with poor players but Beitashour was the most obvious choice this game.

His spot on the team is secure with his back up being Ethan Sampson but he needs to improve his play or the coaching staff will find a replacement. He hasn’t been at his best since before he left for the world cup in July of last season.
