Cali Farquharson – Arizona State’s top scorer and USA U23 striker

The Seattle Sounders Women have signed a goal scoring threat in Cali Farquharson.  Farquharson was Arizona State’s most dangerous scoring threat again in 2014, finishing in double digits in points for the third season in a row and earning a call to the U23 US Women’s National Team.  She finished 2014 as an All PAC12 striker and First Team NSCAA All Region player scoring a goal in 8 consecutive games.

“Cali is one of the best strikers in the country,” says Hubert Busby, Sounders Women head coach, “She has great movement and is a lethal finisher in front of goal.”

Joining Farquharson on the 2015 Sounders Women roster is fellow Sun Devils alum, Taylor McCarter.  McCarter earned All PAC 12 honors in 2010 and 2011 before jumping to the professional ranks with LUV Graz in Austria and Osterund in Sweden.  A well traveled and tough player, Busby will look to McCarter for leadership this summer.

“The best word to describe Taylor is tenacious. Her sound technical ability combined with her combative style, enhance her play with the attributes needed in our very competitive division,” concluded Busby.

Both Farquharson and McCarter will arrive this spring with aspirations of hoisting the W-League crown. The Sounders Women continue to build an attacking and forward first group looking to entertain the fans in Seattle this summer.
