In its second game in as many days, the Montreal Impact topped third division Mexican side Cuautla FC 6-0 on Wednesday, in an exhibition match at the CECAP training center.

Jack McInerney (2), Cameron Porter (2), Romario Williams and Blake Smith scored in the win.

“The chemistry is building between the group and things are progressing as we get closer to the first Pachuca game,” explained 2015 SuperDraft pick Cameron Porter, who added two assists to his brace in a strong second half showing. “I’m still trying to get my feet under me at the pro level and adjust to the much higher level, but today was good both for myself and the team. Now, we have to continue to work on being sound defensively as we know Pachuca is strong down the wings and then take advantage of our opportunities offensively.

McInerney opened the scoring with a PK goal in the 7th minute. He found his brace with in the 55th minute when Porter played him through the right side of the box.

Smith scored the game’s second goal when he used a spin move inside the box in the 43rd minute to shed his defender and push one past the line.

The fourth goal came when Porter fought off a defender down the left flank and fired a left-footer short side in the 65th minute.

The Impact rookie then used a backward chip to spring fellow draft pick Williams through for the Impact fifth goal in the 72ndminute. Porter scored the team’s sixth goal just before the final whistle.

The team continues its training camp in Mexico in preparation for the first game of the Champions League aggregate goal series versus Pachuca on February 24 at 10pm (TVA Sports). The second leg of the quarterfinals will be played on March 3 at 8pm at Olympic Stadium.
