Wednesday morning Major League Soccer finally released the long-awaited fixture lists for the 2015 season. ‘Caps fans already knew they’d be welcoming Canadian rivals, Toronto FC to kick off the season on March 7, the third time they’ve hosted TFC in their short MLS history. But beyond that it was all shrouded in mystery till now.

The home opener will be followed up by away trips to Frank Yallops’ Chicago Fire and new addition Orlando City. Last year the ‘Caps could only muster a bore 0-0 draw in Chicago. But already Frank Yallop has added firepower in DP’s David Accam of Ghana and Kennedy Igboananike of Nigeria along with former Southampton marksman Guly do Prado.

Orlando City have also wasted no time in putting together a roster of quality MLS faces in Aurelien Collin, Tally Hall and Amobi Okugo. And that’s before you even mention Kaka and Brek Shea and the likelihood of another DP before the season starts.

The first Cascadia matchup will take place at BC Place when the ‘Caps attempt to keep hold of the Cascadia Cup against Portland Timbers on March 28.

The toughest stretch for the club will come during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in June when they head off on a five-game road trip taking on; Montreal, LA, NYRB, New England and Colorado.

There will also be the prospect of entertaining Frank Lampard and David Villa at BC Place towards the end of September, well that is if the former Chelsea legend finally makes his move stateside.
