If so, new Prost Amerika partner Mondo Goal has come up with a solution – fantasy football games that don’t last a season but are based on the games played on just one day.
You can opt in any time till ten before kick off and you are at no disadvantage to the weekly players. It is fantasy football for people with lives.
You can select players from the most high profile leagues in the world, including the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, but what hooked us was their commitment to Major League Soccer. The first Prost Amerika supported competition starts this Saturday when LA Galaxy face Real Salt Lake at the Rio Tinto and Columbus Crew host Jermaine Jones’ New England Revs.
Mondo Goal already have some serious partners across the globe in Liverpool FC, West Ham and AS Roma. EPL Champions Manchester City FC called the concept ‘something fresh and unique’.
There are free leagues with small prizes and bigger leagues with larger prizes. We’ve dipped our toe in the water with a MLS side that looks like this:
Our league is called the MLS SATURDAY NOV 1 10-SLOT FREEROLL but there are many others to choose from and you can also compete in head-to-heads against friends and people you don’t really like but who support the same club as you, and you’re kinda forced to hang out with online.
This week’s top MLS prize for Saturday’s games is $450.
How it works:
The Mondogoal system utilizes Opta stats. It will display an array of data to allow you to make informed choices. You can review the data and then make your pick of players up to 10 minutes before kick off, which is just a little handy to avoid being caught by late line up changes.
You can filter your choices by entry fee, prize payout, duration (matchday, weekly etc), number of players to compete against, and even play against your friends in head-to-head challenges or existing leagues.
Setting up an account is free and there are no subscription fees. However, if you do decide to play in a league with cash prizes, you will need the necessary funds in your account prior to submitting your entry.
