Camilo scored all three goals for Vancouver in a a 3-0 victory against North American Soccer League (NASL) club Carolina RailHawks at WakeMed Soccer Park on Sunday.
In doing so, he became the second player to net a hat-trick for the Vancouver club this preseason.
New signing Nigel Reo-Coker made his Vancouver debut and took the captain’s armband.
His effect pleased head coach Martin Rennie.
“I was really pleased with many things that probably go unnoticed,” the Scot said.
“Even in the locker room before the match, he was a big presence and brought a great deal of energy and confidence to the young players.
I think he needs a little bit more time to get fully fit, but I think he will be a fantastic addition to our team and an excellent MLS player.”
Reo-Coker played the first half before Jun Marques Davidson replaced him for the second. Also making his debut was Honduran centre back Johnny Leverón, who came on as a 66th minute substitute for 2013 Supplemental Draft pick Adam Clement.
Camilo scored in the 9, 34th and 49th minutes with the first a penalty kick.
