To add further intrigue, the club released this three-sentence message on the club website:

“We have received interest from a number of European clubs regarding Brek Shea.

Brek is traveling there this evening and as a result, he will not be in attendance at training tomorrow.

Currently, there is no deal in place with any club and we have no further details at this time.”

Former Houston Dynamo defender/midfielder Geoff Cameron already plays at Stoke City and later in the day, there was further speculation that he would follow the utility midfielder on the culturally mindboggling journey from Texas to Stoke.

According to Soccer by Ives, Stoke offered $3 million offer for Shea, which FC Dallas countered with a price of more than $4 million. Pending a physical, they will split the difference.

  1. Good may he come back a better man for the USMNT !!!!

  2. Brek Shea — so much potential, such limited technique. Think he’d make a great LB in the EPL. Good for the US if this goes through … wish Shea would go to the Netherlands for a bit to get some polishing up.
