Norwich City produced the biggest shock of the EPL season so far with a hard earned 1-0 win over Manchester United at Carrow Road today.
Anthony Pilkington angled and powered a fantastic header past a helpless Anders Lindegaard on the hour mark to give Javier Garrido’s cross a finish far better than the Basque left back, on loan from Lazio could have hoped for.
It was only Norwich’s second win in 15 attempts against United and only the second time Sir Alex Ferguson’s Reds had failed to score this season.
As their first was on opening day at Everton, Norwich in fact broke a a 17 game run of United scoring in every match.
United now trail Manchester City who beat Aston Villa 5-0 at Eastlands by one point. Now three behind United are Chelsea who fell 2-1 at season revelation West Bromwich Albion.
Arsenal triumphed 5-2 in the North London derby over Tottenham Hotspur.
