The news of Pia Sundhage’s departure from the post as US Womens Head Coach launched an immediate search for her successor.

Sounders fans will be relieved to here that their coach, Michelle French, has no intention of abandoning the Emerald City –  and for the most humble of reasons.

Prost Amerika: What was your reaction to the news of Pia’s decision?

Michelle French: Following the World Cup, there had been some speculation and talk as to whether or not the Olympics would be the last event that Pia would coach the USWNT.  So upon hearing the news that she was stepping away, I don’t believe many in the soccer world were caught off-guard.

Prost Amerika: How would you sum up her time as head coach?

Michelle French: Pia has brought a level of charisma, excitement, and renewed energy to the USWNT program, which has translated onto the field.  It’s undeniable how successful she’s been, just look at her record she has posted as the coach!

Prost Amerika: Are you interested in the post?

Michelle French:  No, at this time I am not interested in the position. I do not feel I have enough experience.

Prost Amerika: Fans are eager to know what happens next regarding womens soccer in Seattle. What can you tell them?

Michelle French:  I would tell fans to expect another great product on the field next season!

Prost Amerika: If you had three words to describe your season at the Sounders Women, what would they be?

Michelle French:  Unexpected, exciting, but overall successful!
