Sounders and RSL Boosted by Failures Below

The Western Conference Table by Points Per Game is looking very good now for Seattle and RSL after Galaxy and Caps failed to win on Wednesday.

Vancouver were missing key players on international duty as well as captain Jay DeMerit with a concussion. They also ran into a FC Dallas side with Fabian Castillo and Davide Ferreira finally finding their top form. Second-half goals by Fabian Castillo and substitute Jonathan Top gave the Schellas Hyndman’s strugglers their second away win of the season.

For all their efforts, the Whitecaps managed just one shot on goal and were well down their depth chart by the time the game ended with names like Michael Nanchoff and Caleb Clarke on the pitch at full time.

For Saturday’s crunch match in Seattle, they will have Darren Mattocks and Dane Richards available, both of whom came off the bench for Jamaica in a 2-0 win over El Salvador in Washington DC. Mattocks came on in the 54th minute for Colorado’s Omar Cummings. Dane Richards played 14 minutes after replacing Houston’s Jevaughn Watson.

They will however be without Martin Bonjour who picked up a yellow card against Dallas and will be suspended.

Los Angeles Galaxy needed a Robbie Keane goal to secure a 1-1 draw in Columbus. Seattle, Vancouver and Galaxy all have 37 points but Seattle have two games in hand over Vancouver and three over Los Angeles.
