“You have a Scarf on. You’re not Superman. You’re not Protected by Superman.”
Timbers Army ‘padrone’ Shawn Levy directly addresses his fellow Portland fans in an explosive Part 2 of his interview on Radio Sounders.
Holding nothing back, he relates his past experiences in the USL at the hands of the Qwest Field stewards and why they have been the cause of him staying away in the past, but he also outlines how things changed for the better this year.
“I don’t want to go to Vancouver and Seattle and have a miserable experience.”
He also voices his frustration at the mainstream press including the one he writes for at their disinterest in covering fan culture.
But in the most explosive part of the interview, he fires a verbal broadside at anyone thinking of stepping out of line and bringing bad publicity to the Timbers Army and the game, and outlines what anyone trying to ruin it for the rest can expect.
The podcast contains very bad language so if you are easily offended, don’t listen to it. (If a minor using your computer downloads it, you left him or her alone at the computer, not us).

Thanks for doing this. Sounds like TA leadership has their shit together. Glad to hear it.
What I like is the ACES supporter from Portland that actually tattoo’d ACES on his deltoid. Classy. I wonder if he’s making the trip up to Qwest to show his organic, homegrown support of the noncommercial, we don’t want to make a profit, Portland Timbers. I’m just saying…
I’m just glad the discussion went in a positive direction and Sean concentrated on the good things coming from down south in regards to 2011, and thier upcoming season. Rather then stirring the pot with more “piped in crowd noise” and “customer” nonsense. I could tell he was biting his tongue at points but in all fairness it goes both ways.
I never called him a looney but I might call him a few things tomorrow if we cross paths. All in good natured rivalry of course =P.
Cheers to a good match, and good times tomorrow!
It is always amusing when PDX fans complain about how they are treated at Qwest, when there have been plenty of instances where PGE fans have been less than cordial to us Sounders fans.
Of course in that case, the harassment suddenly becomes the problem of the visiting fan.
There is no more chance of him being a raving lunatic, than if I had either of the top boys from the ECS on. Out of interest, from where did you garner the impression that he would be?
There is no more reason to believe he would be a raving lunatic, than there would be if either of the top boys of the ECS were on. He came on a show called ‘Radio Sounders’ and made a plea to his own to behave. The lunatics are those thinking this game or any other is something more than a sporting contest between two local rivals. And there are some of them in both cities.

Totally agree. I expected to hear a raving lunatic. But the points he was making were exactly how I feel about it all.
This actually came off much better than I thought it would. Other than the bad mic both this and the Vancouver interview were interesting and appreciated.
Thanks Prost!
