England in Chaos after John Terry Fired as Captain

Terry is Now the Former England Captain
The Italian met Terry earlier today and his dismissal as England captain seems to be the result of a short 12 minute conversation. Terry is accused of an extra marital affair with the former girlfriend of England colleague Wayne Bridge. At the weekend, Bridge’s Manchester City colleagues displayed t-shirts with the motto “Team Bridge” on them to show their solidarity with Bridge, and it has since come out that many of Terry’s England colleagues have included the same in their Blackberry messages. The lack of support from Terry’s England colleagues may have been a factor in sealing his fate.
Manchester United centre half Rio Ferdinand has assumed the captaincy for the next match against Egypt on March 3, despite proving an irritant to the football authorities too. Ferdinand appealed against a three match ban for an act of thuggery on Hull City’s Craig Fagan. Despite the television cameras clearly catching the elbowed assault, Ferdinand appealed against the decision. He was given an additional match ban for wasting everybody’s time. Remarkably, he has now appealed against that ban too.
Capello clearly does not feel Ferdinand is simply too big an embarrassment to be England captain. Ferdinand has also previously received a ban for avoiding an obligatory drugs test. Steve Gerrard will be vice captain.
