Sounders FC 2010 Schedule Here

Good Bars to Watch Soccer in Seattle
Wednesday, February 3, 2010

The MLS revealed the full schedule today and Sounders fans now know their team’s calendar.

A home game with New York Red Bulls has been added to the early calendar, and Sounders will face them before their first road trip, the already announced April 10th visit to Salt Lake.

Like last season, Sounders FC’s calendar is front loaded with home games to avoid too many of them in October when the NFL side will want use of Qwest Field. Four of Sounders last six games are away from home, including a mouth watering final tie in Houston.

Los Angeles visit in the early part of the season so it’s doubtful if Sounders fans will see David Beckham and Landon Donovan this year. Sounders last game before the world cup is a repeat of their opener, with Philadelphia taking the turn to host the Sounders. Sounders fans can celebrate July 4th as guests of the So-Cal Sound supporters group, as the Rave Green play their independence day game in Los Angeles. This Sounders second fixture after MLS resumes following its world cup break.

Interestingly enough, six of Sounders last 11 games are against just three sides. Houston, Chicago Fire and Chivas USA are all totally avoided until the very end of the season calendar.

i live in LA and i’m already making arrangements with friends who want to come down. a holiday weekend in los angeles?! in july! most people will have monday off…how about we get a few hundred fans down here (virgin air is direct and cheap…and a great airline. just sayin.). all three games last year here were great, even in defeat. plus, when the sounders finally scored against the galaxy the second match, when you looked around the stadium, there were sounders fans in every section, plus the insanity of the ecs/socal sound filling one corner. incredible.

    can’t wait!

    Top 5:
    Philly – duh.
Columbus – Sigi’s old team, plus we ended their insane home undefeated streak
Chivas – They beat us twice, and it’s our final home game. Will be huge.
    Houston – vengeance
Chicago – another supporter rival, ECS will bring it.

    Bottom 5:
KC, SJ – early season afternoon games
Galaxy – no Beckham to mock, and possibly no Landycakes
Colorado – Sunday night? Plus we might sit a couple starters if Sigi decides to take CCL seriously.
DC – a Dead Horse, Eastern Conf nothingteam.
