Joe Misses his Sounders - Ahhh

Joe Misses his Sounders - Ahhh

Are you missing your Sounders? It seems you are not alone. Our intrepid cameraman Joe Armand penned this last week and it seems to reflect much of what we are hearing from you the readers. In this short piece, Joe mulls over issues like getting to know the Houston Dynamo, withdrawal symptoms and what he sees needs to be tweaked for next season.

“My Seahawk season tickets are collecting dust.”

by Joe Armand

Here I sit next to the shores of Silver Lake, lamenting over the inaugural Sounders season that has come and gone. Like most of you, I would have preferred the Sounders to get deeper in the playoffs, although I can’t think of a better team against to fall. I have enjoyed watching the Dynamo and interacting with their Staff. From watching Coach Kinnear beam at the very mention of his children to working with Dynamo media boss Jonathan Yardley on some issues, I have been afforded a great opportunity to meet some quality people this year. But I digress..

The Sounders had their season end in Houston, but returned late that night as heros in Seattle. We should all have faith that Coach Sigi will address the problems that his fledgling squad had this season. He will find players that can finish the ball into the upper V’s. He will teach the players that flopping around on the pitch like a landed carp is not the proper way to gain an advantage. The Front Office will make some moves with the check book and shake out more of the cash they have in their budget. I know that Conditioning Coach David Tenney will work the 2010 squad harder to enable a full 90, injury free, minutes out of each player.

Like a lot of you, I am waiting for next year and more Sounders FC. My Seahawk season tickets are collecting dust. I can’t find the motivation to watch 60 minutes of play get stretched into three and a half hours of stop and go. My wife is tired being forced to watch re-runs of the Fox Soccer Report 2 and 3 times a day just so I can get my fix of watching footie.

I would love to hear how other supporters are handling their off season. I have to tell you that I’m miserable. I want my Futbol back.

How are you coping with no Sounders FC?
