To celebrate the end of the season and the arrival of the Cup Final in Seattle, Prost Amerika is proud to present our Big Cup Final Event. The event, sponsored by Karen Balkin Fine Homes Team, Dr Jeff Harris, Peak’s Frozen Custard, Uli’s Sausages and the Stone House Restaurant will take place at Capitol Hill’s Baltic Room on the eve of the Cup Final, November 21st, from 3-6 pm, and follows in a great European tradition of celebrating the Cup Final with parties and events.

Of course this year is something special as it has been Seattle’s first in MLS and the Cup Final is the last destination on an incredible journey which many of you have shared with us. Prost Amerika has put together an afternoon of entertainment with the twin themes of European culture and soccer which matches not only the history of this website but that incredibly strong vein running through Sounders FC itself, its staff and its supporter culture.

The entertainment will come in two parts. Seattle’s own favourite German entertainer Manuela Horn, star of NBC’s America’s Got Talent will perform in the first half and given the roots of Prost Amerika in the German language, and the German influence in the Sounders Front Office, coaching staff and even the ECS, there’s a fair bet some of the humour will be very topical.

The second half will be an all star soccer Q&A, with panelists from all areas of our game. Fox Soccer Channel’s Jeremy St Louis will be on the panel. Jeremy is the co-presenter of the Fox Soccer report show and host of the MLS Pulse segment, which is the main editorial slot on FSC devoted entirely to issues affecting MLS. As well as MLS, Jeremy’s passions are EPL, all issues Canadian including the arrival of the Caps, and the World Cup.

Representing the global game is Sandra Hunt, FIFA’s appointed representative in the Pacific Northwest. Sandra travels the world watching soccer and claims to have read Sounders match reports while observing referees in Africa. Sandra’s main duty is the standard of refereeing in the area and she will defend her boys with all her might. This occasion will be the first time that anybody knows of where someone responsible for refereeing will face questions from supporters. Brave woman!

MLS commitments permitting, we will have a representative from the very top of Sounders FC. We won’t know who until MLS schedules its meetings, but the identity will be announced as soon as we can be sure.

Seattle’s famous Uli’s Sausages is providing food for the event, German and other European delicacies, which will be included as part of the price. The Baltic Room are designing beer flights for the occasion too. The cover charge will be just $13 in advance (plus Brown Paper Ticket’s cut), and places are limited. Again, the date is November 21st, and the event takes place from 3pm to 6pm. The Baltic Room is located at 1207 Pine Street.

This event is now an official part of the MLS Supporters Summit activities, but no matter what, it’s a uniquely Seattle event and celebrates our first year in MLS. James Riley will be in attendance to party and enjoy the ice cream which he told us he loves.
