Good evening all. Prost Amerika is here live at Starfire. We’re sitting outside with the sun behind us. Teams coming up.

It’s a lovely night here, about 64 degrees. The place is full. It’s nice to see Ciaran O’Brien back here but Sounders eyes will be on debutant Evan Brown, and Sanna Nyassi starting for the first time. First team regulars Keller, Hurtado and Le Toux have been drafted in, and Brad Evans is on the bench. I’m outside and the sun is behind me beaming light onto my screen. So pardon the typos.

Anthems sung and Nick is obligingly standing in front of the sun for me. It’s his first game.

1. Nyassi clattered by Holody. Poor free into the box.

Wahl is at LB. Brown at RB, Forrest at Left mid, Nyassi at right

5. Corner Rapids after Richardson’s shot is deflected. Cleared. But Le Toux called for a foul as he was about to cross. Nick’s gone now and I’m sitting at a funny angle so I can see my screen. Roger gets the ball and everybody screams.

8. Terry Cooke draws Keller’s first save with a 18 yard daisy cutter.

10. Harden hammers a clearnce of Le Toux it falls to Levesque who is clear on goal. He is also off side.

13. Hurtado clears to Levesque, his shot is saved by Burpo. Le Toux’s rebound is even betterly saved by Burpo and then Harden hacks off their line. And yes, betterly is now a word. But it’s still 0-0

16. I now have a clutch of volunteers blocking the sun. There’s just me and Jorge from La Raza out here.

18. Forrest hasn’t had a chance to show his pace yet. He’s up against Kouske Kamura at Rapids RB. Stephen King becomes the latest Sounder to need treatment. He’s ok though.

20. The atmosphere is great and although I can’t see what I’m typing, I’m happy to be outside. Kimure blasts high and wide. Ballouchy is beginning to run this game for them.

23. Nyassi beginning to show some of that old USL magic from last year. Valentino hacks clear and Sounders have a corner. And a second one. And a third, this time from the left, which somehow Levesque manages to clear for them.

25. Richardson caught offside again. Just. Valentino clears and King brings another good save from Burpo. The rebound shot goes wide. Burpo has made thre very good saves.

29. Brown clatters Petersojn out on their left and is lucky not to be booked. FK for Rapids 30 yards out. Hurtado heads clear.

34. Nyassi cross is met by both Roger and Ty hraden at the same time. SFC corner on right. Wahl receives and juggles but his shot is tame and blocked by Sturgis anyway.

36. It’s getting windy, it’s still 0-0 and I’m wondering how many times Ronaldo will fall over tomorrow. Forrest clips Peterson – no free kick. But he’s hurt and the physio comes on. Four of them in fact. And he’s back on.

37. Ianni shepherds Richardson well on Rapids left.Burpo saves from a tame King effort. No-one’s quite knocking on the door for a place against Columbus.

40. Both sides are giving the ball away too much. Richardson’s offside again.

44. People are starting to think of half time food. Roger feeds Nyassi who is clean through on Burpo who saves. Flag was up anyway.

45. Ross Schunk glances a header wide of the right post with Keller beaten. It is the last action of an entertaining but scoreless first half.

SECOND HALF

45. Nick LaBrocca is in for Balouchy.

48. Nothing’s happened.

50. Nyassi finally gets to te by line and gets a cross in. Harden hoofs clear though.

53. Corner headed just wide by Harden.

55. Nyassi bursts through and tests Burpo who saves to his right. In case you missed it, we have a picture now.

58. Ciaran O’Brien beats man and then falls over. Rapids have a corner.

60. Great cross swung over and O’Brien makes an utter hash of the diving header. It peters wide of the goal and the local lad should have done better. Or even betterly.

62. GOAL. Nyassi throw in, back headed on by Levesque and Kevin Forrest slots it home. Sounders 1 :0 Rapids

66. Ross Schunk is down. It appears to be cramp. 4007 is our attendance.

68. Scramble in the Rapids penalty box which they eventually clear. Le Toux finds Levesque who slides his shot past Burpo’s right post.

69. O’Brien and Schunk off and Harvey and Palguta come on for Rapids.

72. Riley comes on for Forrest for Seattle. Riley is playing left midfield and has new sabados amarillos. Says Jorge.

75. 15 minutes for Seattle to hold on. They probably look the better side at the moment and have kept Richardson quieter second half.

77. Jordan Harvey is booked for scything down Nyassi. No doubt about that one.

79. Nyassi off for Jaqua. Riley is now right mid, Levesque left mid and Jaqua parterning Le Toux up front.

81. Rapids have a corner after Richardson does well and is tackled. Keller catches launches upfield and Burpo is smart to come out the box to clear before Le Toux.

86. A great Michael Holody drive gives Keller his biggesttest of the night. He saves superbly and holds the catch.

92.00 Full time and Seattle go through with something to spare, quote by Lori Ross who’s joined me for the last ten minutes. She’s brighter than the sun she is.
