Univision to Provide Sounders Spanish TV Coverage

The Seattle Sounders FC announced today a partnership with sister stations KUNS 51(Univision) and the new THIS-TV 4.2 to broadcast 10 matches in Spanish beginning this Saturday, April 18.

Play-by-play will be provided by KUNS Noticias Noroeste Sports Director Jaime Méndez with former USL Sounder Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar as analyst. Alcarez-Cuellar’s expertise includes a total of six years as a professional player in the Pacific Northwest.

“Our partnership with KUNS and THIS-TV will allow us to better serve and further strengthen our relationship with our Spanish speaking fans, as well as provide a platform by which our corporate partners can communicate directly with the Hispanic community”, said Sounders FC VP Corporate Partnerships Ron Jenkins.

KUNS 51 will also be the home to a weekly half-hour show on every Saturday from 6-6:30 p.m. ‘Sounders FC en Acción’ will be hosted by Méndez, and sports reporter/producer Elimar Ugueto.

I yet have to yell a gooooooooooooooool!!!!! For our team but when it comes, I promise I won’t be shy about it, just tune in… you’ll hear it!”
